Alpinetek Women’s Long Down Parka Coat

O O OMG!!! I love this jacket!!(I'm logged into my BF's account, because he was the one who bought this for me as a birthday present.)I spent like 2 hours hunting for jackets before deciding on this one. I live in NYC so I needed it to be really warm (after just moving here from the desert... the New York winter weather was such a huge shock, I could hardly stand going outside.)But this jacket is unbelievably warm. Like seriously warm. I feel like I'm wrapped in a quilt.It's pretty cute too. I was sort of expecting it to look cheap because it's not a brand I recognized... AND because it actually is cheap in price. But it feels expensive. Plus it has a patch so you can feel sort of cool while wearing it (like the people walking around in their $700 Canada Goose jackets... Looking cool is obviously important... but not enough to inspire a Canada Goose purchase.)I bought a similar jacket last year when I just moved here... it was name brand (again... trying to look like a cool person)... and I chose it because some reviewer said that she felt warm... even up in Canada wearing it. But she must have been a big liar. Because the jacket was the opposite of warm. So this year, I was way more careful. And this jacket had good reviews. Plus the material looked pretty durable. Anyway, it's the warmest jacket I've ever owned.I got an extra small because I wanted it really snug. And it is. I usually wear a small. But the XS isn't so snug that it's uncomfortable... I just feel way warmer.And the hood isn't as nuts as it looks in the picture. :)

This is no Canada Goose! However, as a much cheaper alternative it's an excellent warm coat!!! - it is very well made with great details and quality materials. I'm usually a size 12-14 in jackets/coats, and the "Large" in this coat is somewhat large for me - but because the sleeves are just right, I think the medium would have been too small. The coat goes to the knees and I'm 5'10. I have been outside in this coat during 0'F and strong winds, and the coat was perfectly warm. I agree with other reviews saying this coat does not have the slim(ing) fit of Canada Goose or Pajar, and will not enhance your figure - it's fair to say it will likely make you look like you have gained a little weight. But if you don't care too much about that, and are looking for an everyday coat for cold winter walks, waiting for kids outdoors etc, this coat is for you!!! I'm very pleased with it.

I originally bought an XS, but the sleeves were too short, couldn't reach for the hood easily and didn't leave much room for layering inside the jacket. I normally get a medium jacket for the extra room, but the small was perfect. It's a winter jacket and it needs to have room for layers, so I would recommend ordering your true size as it runs a bit large for a small. I'm 5'4" 115 lbs and the XS was too small for a winter jacket.Well made, lots of compliments. The fur is beautiful, but tends to shed a bit. The hood is a bit awkward as it's so big it covers my eyes when wearing it, but I have a smaller head. If you are between a size 2-4 I recommend the small unless you are trying to go for a slim fashion look and don't care about the short arms and wearing warm layers underneath. Overall it was a great buy to keep me warm in single digit weather.

It's f-in cold in Minnesota and I sell cars so I am outside A LOT with customers and scraping windows. This coat is WARM!!! And I don't need to take it off when I get inside because it is down filled so I don't over heat. I would definitely buy this again. I accidentally washed the hood and ruined the fur, so don't do that!!

This coat is made with goose down, and the quality with sleeves material, and the hood are pretty good. Though it does not really look anything like the picture....it is not very flat, and its very poofy especially at the bottom.... If you are comparing this to the canada goose it has some major differences. Also for a 5ft size person the coat looked a bit too gigantic on

I just received this coat today and I never write reviews, but this is truly an amazing super warm coat with all the bells and whistles a true winter coat needs. It feels like wearing a down comforter. This coat is great for the bitter winter weather. May be too warm for light winter weather, but PERFECT for cold cold weather. It was everything I was looking for in a winter coat at a reasonable cost.The only downside is I was buying it for my daughter who is a size 0/2 and and I am 6/8 and the small fits me perfectly and I am wearing a sweater and a tank, so unfortunately I need to return it for a smaller size, which I originally was purchasing but it sold out as I was trying to buy it, so I thought I'd give the small a try since she will be wearing sweaters. The label of the coat says 6/8 so it fits more like a women's medium. I might keep it for myself since there are no more in xs. The thumb hole sleeves are a tad tight on me, but I usually have a probably with sleeves being slightly short on me, so it might not effect the average person. It is nice and fitting around the neck and sleeves, so no cold will slip through.AMAZING COAT!!!

The coat looks great, the quality is nice, it's warm (I live in Minnesota) and it's long, so it covers my thighs BUT: The hood has a huge non-removable fur trim and even though the hood has (very thin) strings, you can't really tighten the hood. I'm not that short (5'8") and it completely covers my eyes. The fur looks ridiculous and I wish fur trims would just go away altogether. :)I'm sad to have to send it back but a working hood is a must have in cold climates.

This coat is very warm and is stylish as well. I have gotten many complements on it. I am from Minnesota so a warm winter jacket is a necessity! I also needed a long coat because I go to many hockey games where you sit on cold bleachers, and this jacket did the trick. I went on a 30 minute walk in 19 degree weather the other day and I was nice and warm. Great Jacket!
