Since it uses "standard" LED bulbs (vs. SMDs) it's not extremely bright, but this wasn't an issue for me.Being able to independently aim the solar panel and light is a big plus if the location doesn't get a lot of direct sunlight. It's also quite well put together and, after 2 years of use still looks all but new. The solar panel, unlike others I've purchased, is not faded or delaminating. The aluminum case is not chipping or peeling or showing the effects of having lived through 2 years of Pacific Northwest weather (ranging in this time between 10 and 115 degrees).What sets this light apart is the company selling and warranting it. I'm sure we've all bought things here with a generous warranty period, only to find that a few months or a year later, the company is either out of business or no longer selling on Amazon.With the days getting shorter, I noted that 3 of the individual LEDs in my unit were no longer working. I wrote to the seller on Sunday morning, hoping there was a chance I'd get lucky. Within hours, I had a response offering me a free replacement. Seller immediately shipped a free new replacement unit without requiring a return of the defective unit, but it's a hassle to remove/reinstall so soon. Otherwise, sturdy aluminum as described. Brief instructions included. The on/off switch is on the backside of the solar panel marked "Low-Off-High" which is misleading because it's really just an on/off switch. The 2 modes mentioned in the website listing as well as the low/off/high markings at the switch apparently refer to the automated function, that is, when on, it will default to low illumination all night except motion be detected when it will automatically switch from low to high illumination for 20 seconds and return to low illumination again. One reviewer reported 4 of 8 LED chips failing at 7 months. My experience is only 2 nights. I can neither yet testify to its LED longevity nor to its weatherproof performance.
