This is capable of outputting DV to any HDR device, even ones that don't support DV. I recently purchased a Samsung OLED TV. The picture quality this player provides brings my TV to a whole new level of brilliance. There are some major limitations with this device. There are licensing issues that prevent any of this from working. What you can do is fill a hard drive with 1:1 rips of UHD or Bluray discs, and play those back through the Zidoo Dolby Engine. With this usecase, you'll get an incredible picture that you could only get with more expensive and limited devices like the HDFury Vertex. You need two devices to maximize the capabilities of today's TV's - one for streaming, and one for local playback. For local playback, Zidoo is in a field by itself. It's that good. Review: My NVIDIA Shield Pro is starting to show its age and I wanted something with HDR10+ support and AV1 decoding so I picked this up based on the reviews and it lives up to the hype. I still have my Shield for streaming apps. NOTE: this is NOT a replacement for a streaming stick or box. Although it can support some streaming apps, this device is meant to play files from a locally connected hard drive or network storage and it EXCELS at this function. The user interface is basic but inoffensive. The Home Theater 4.0 software scanned my library of 60+ movies and over 100 TV episodes and I only had to manually rematch 4 of them. Prior to that update, they all played but for an occasional infrequent 20 second freeze which appeared to be caused by some kind of issue in the audio track. Since the update I've seen a rare audio only drop out for no more than a second or two; very infrequent.
