Metres (approx 108 inches in old money).I've just tried it out to access the roof hatch in my garage and offer the following observation:Floor to ceiling height is approx 2.4 Metres and the ladder is just long enough to permit safe access with a reasonable overlap over the ceiling joist. The ladder is printed with clear instructions with a red marker line showing how it should be safely positioned with the correct angle.I'm generally very pleased with this product. It would perhaps not be as convenient as a permanent, extending loft ladder which would be more expensive but should be adequate unless you have a very high ceiling. **Q: Can anybody tell me, what is the outer width of the splayed legs? Thanks** A: Assuming you mean the legs themselves (as opposed to the distance between them when the ladder is deployed), the answer is 46cm for the larger and 44cm for the (slightly) smaller one, as measured between the outsides of the red rubber feet at the very base.
