With the other side anchored?** A: According to my dad, the handyman, if you use a drywall anchor designed to hold a good weight it should be fine. My second shelf will not have any studs, but my anchors will hold 159 pounds. It's the favorite of my smallest cat, Clive, shown in the picture. He is three years old but very small, not much larger than an older kitten, so make your own judgments about the size of the shelf. My larger cats fit on it well too.Just make sure to pay attention to the directions re: installing the screw caps. I didn't and couldn't get them on after I put it up. It doesn't matter because the screws are an attractive metal color and I don't think it detracts.
