(In fact, the head I mounted is the heaviest part of the tripod.) Easy to deploy, stable, although arranging the legs takes a little practice because they have such a wide range. Comes with a short post for low-to-the-ground shots, which I haven't used yet - but it's nice to have. (I had one on an old tripod, and when you need one - you REALLY need one). Very light, packs small, and is plenty sturdy enough for even a full size spotter. Doesn’t extend tall enough to stand behind but works great for an ultra light backpacking tripod.
