I did take the lid off of mine, and fortunately, nothing came out like the Indianna Jones movie, so feel safe to touch it and open it and enjoy it. **Q: what are the dimensions?** A: Unfortunately I cannot give the exact dimensions. Our house is being remodeled and everything is in boxes and packed away. It fit in the palm of my hand and so I could estimate that it was about five or six inches long. It was about three or four inches wide and was about three or four inches tall. The ratio was correct per the description in the Bible. I hope this helps.
