Review: Rare find - I coupled this universal adaptor to a L14-30P to 6-15/20R Pigtail Welder Adapter Cord to power a home appliance that I bought abroad which runs on ~240V. I have a 240V outlet in my garage. The adaptor and cord combination solved a problem I had interfacing a UK type plug on the appliance to a NEMA type plug found on generators without having to rewire the non-domestic appliance. The combination worked well, though I wish the adaptor was more heavy duty. The construction is typical of these kinds of adaptors, but this particular universal adaptor was not easy to find. Glad one was available.

**Q: What gauge wire/cable to use with this?**
A: This device plugs into a 220v outlet (English style) and converts to an American 220v style. It is rated to handle currents of up 15amps. Wires are not connected directly to it. It is plugged in on one end and plugged into on the other.

**Q: Is the receptacle end NEMA 5-15 on the end facing you when plug in? I see the end going into the wall is 6-20P, but what goes into this, is it 5-15?**
A: It’s universal on the receptive side.  I used it to plug in a BS 1363 device, but 5-15 will fit just fine.

**Q: If i use this product can i plug my 115volt portable ac into a 240volt outlet plug?**
A: You can try it. I bought it so that I could put a regular plug AC into this specific outlet however turns out the power from the outlet would cause the ac to cut out.

**Q: 6-20P outlet is not very common. What localities is it being used? What devices use 6-20P outlet?**
A: Usually this type of plug is used for extension cord in Industry and commercial bldgs. where there are both voltages are provided. This one is for USA only
