I put batteries in them when they came and they are so beautiful they look like vintage burning candles that flicker I truly love the way they look. I unscrew the base of the candle until it is unlit and they stay in place perfectly till I tighten the base battery holder and want them on again. I purchased the Ivory colored ones and they look great with my decor. ### ⭐ Don't work well *by B***E on Reviewed in the United States on January 14, 2020* These either don't work from the very beginning, in other words, they never light up at all. Or, they stop working after you change the batteries for the first time. I've had two sets of these and neither were reliable. I bought some grungy/prim flame-less candles from another source five years ago and every single one of those worked and still work to this day. The seller was nice enough to send me a replacement and refunded me my money for these right away, and I have to say customer service was very good, but I cannot recommend this product at all.
