My waistline was well within the range given on the size chart for this faja, so it should have fit just fine. As it turns out, I had no problem getting the faja over my hips, but the waist area was a real struggle to get closed with those hook and eye closures. It was challenging to pull both sides closed while also getting the tiny fasteners together and into each other. A zip front would have made closing this faja so much easier - and would probably compensate for not having a more customized fit. As to the construction, it does seem well-made for the price and it has several nice features - the rubber inside the thigh bands really worked well to keep the legs from riding up and bunching up. However, there wasn’t much compression in the thigh area. This may be intentional to avoid creating bulges, I am not sure. The zipper in the crotch is a great feature and it is positioned exactly where you need it. The front has three rows of closures so there is some flexibility to get the fit that you want and need. The straps also have multiple rows of hook and eye closures at the shoulder so you can adjust the strap length a little if you need to. This faja does seem to offer a lot of compression mainly in the waist IF your proportions match the way it’s constructed. But it will be hard to know before buying because it seems the size chart can’t be relied on. Compression is good and it goes up under the bra so you don’t have that third under boob. Only complaints I have are 1. You need tweezers or some like that to get the chest strap off. That little hook is good and does its job well. 2. I can see some of the hook up area at the top of my dress. Like 3-4. Maybe if you’re on the 1st hook you wouldn’t see it but I’m on the tightest setting. What I love about it is the zipper bathroom opening. It’s big enough not to worry about accidents! I can’t see the arm straps through fabric and allows you to use a good bra for that perfect look. I was about to sit down without it bunching or rolling.
