I ordered this set specifically to tackle heavier root vegetables, squash, and melons, and it has handled those jobs very well. Both knives arrived very sharp and ready to use. The chef’s knife feels comfortable in my hand and well balanced. The tang runs through the wooden handle, and the overall construction feels solid and secure. It does not feel flimsy or lightweight in a cheap way. There is a nice heft to it that makes cutting dense vegetables easier without feeling cumbersome. I appreciate that the handle is smooth but still easy to grip. It feels stable and controlled during use. I have been hand washing and drying it immediately after use, as recommended, to keep it in good condition. So far, it has resisted rust, and I hope that continues in the future. The bonus Viking style boning knife is definitely unique. I am not entirely sure how often I will use it yet, but it looks great and comes with a leather sheath for storage. It would likely be useful for more specific meat prep or even outdoor cooking. Overall, this set feels durable, sharp, and thoughtfully made. For the price, it has been a great addition to my kitchen.
