There is plenty of storage for equipment and clothing or whatever you need to carry. I didn’t think I would enjoy the roll top that much, but honestly the ability to store more gear having it has been very nice. There are a few negatives but nothing too drastic. The magnetic latch/snap/closure whatever you want to call it in the front pouch is pretty much useless after a days worth of use. The magnet is not very strong and it does not seal reliably. I don’t out anything in the front pouch unless I don’t mind losing it because I have bent over to tie my shoe or out the leash on the dog and things that I’ve had in the front pouch have fallen out. The second thing is the inside box frame that holds the camera gear is only supported on three sides so therefore any horizontal shelves/whatever you call them will end up not staying level and this causes them to sag and tend to curl up at the unsupported end. Also there are little white hard plastic wires that help keep the shape of the back pack on the inside and I have had both sides poke through the fabric. If you don’t fix it the key keep sliding out and become useless. Other than that the only other thing is I am really hard on backpacks so I’m not sure happen to everyone, but the front pouch is made of very thin material, it’s heavy duty yet thin and I have rubbed a hole in the bottom of the pouch somehow. It's made well, it uses good quality materials, it is large, and it has bespoke pockets for things, but it absolutely does not work for my use case: FPV drones. My use case is probably not typical; I have a number of types of drone that I use for work and recreation. I found this backpack from a Joshua Bardwell review and I thought it looked like it would fit my needs. It does not. I opted for the 40L version because I need a lot of storage. Immediately, my controller (a TX16S) does not fit upright in the cargo area, and laying down it takes up the entire space... so it's going in the top roll up section. I need to pack several types of goggle (DJI and HDZero), and they don't fit stacked, or on the small edge, so they also have to be laid flat. There goes 50% of the available space. I am going to fly a 5+ inch drone... nowhere to attach it on the outside, and it's too big to fit even props off on the inside. So the inside of the bag is full of odds and ends that will fit inside, but not arranged in a particularly accessible way because the things I need to access don't fit. It's time to fly now, so I have to take off the bag, open the cargo compartment, take out a battery, zip up the compartment, stand up the bag, unroll the top section, take out the controller case, take out the controller, oh dang it's TBS crossfire so I need to module, lay down the bag, reach elbow deep into the back section, fish out the module, hook it to the controller, open a different case, pull out the drone, hook up the battery, I forgot the goggles, lay the bag back down, pull out the right goggles, turn everything on, oh wait, you're ready to leave again? now I've got to do everything in reverse, except that the stupid rollup compartment is a literal bag on top and the toolkit that I also shoved in there has fallen down and I need two hands to put the controller case back in. Well, I guess it's got a nice flippy indicator for used batteries. Except I'm using 6S lipos and they don't fit in the battery compartment anyway. What I'm trying to say in all of this complainy review is that the bag is really high quality, and I'm sure it's great if you're using it for exactly what it is designed for: cameras. The "bag" features are great -- although it doesn't have a lot of space for things like pens and other small odds and ends; that all gets shoved into the little compartment by the top handle. So if you want it for camera stuff, great.
