I thought it was sort of a rayon material, like another lounge set that I have. When this arrived I was so pleasantly surprised that it is SO NICE. The quality is like a sweater. A thin sweater, but a sweater no less. Very soft (not scratchy at all), fairly thick, and a nice rich black. The off-white waist tie breaks it up a bit if you like that, but i honestly think it looks fine without it too. The top can be worn outside the shorts, or tucked into the front, and it looks good either way depending on the look you're wanting. It's SUPER comfortable as well. The shorts are not micro-short at all, which is perfect for me as I don't want to wear super short shorts (I'm in my mid-50s and just not into that anymore). The small fits great with lots of extra room to spare -- for reference I'm 5'6" and 130 lbs. This set looks great with a pair of Birkenstocks, or just some simple open toe slides, or tennis shoes. It's a perfect outfit to lounge around the house in, but as stated in the description it would be a fantastic travel outfit because it's so ridiculously comfortable and non-fussy. It seems like it will hold up really well with regular washing. Even though it is sweater-like, it's not a shrinkable type fabric and it doesn't require a lot of extra care -- just wash and wear and it's good to go.
