Even with the blinds up, they do a tremendous job of keeping the light out. This really cannot be over stated. The fabric is soft and gentle. It's also a light material. The initial quality and appearance of the curtain is great! The color works well for the room decor. Overall I am highly satisfied with the purchase. It's too soon to determine how these will hold up, as they will be in direct sunlight, however they're keeping that light out, which is my immediate want and need.
