It also does not completely attach to the base, so I wouldn’t recommend keeping it around young kids who might pick it up, knock it over, or treat it like a toy. That said, the depiction of the scorpion is true to character and radiates magnificently within the globe. The lighting effects are impressive. The remote allows you to adjust the vibrancy, dim the light, switch to a single color, or use strobe and flash modes — all of which work well. When I first plugged it in, any option I selected caused the globe to immediately shut off, and I had to unplug and replug it to get the light back on. After about five tries, it stopped shutting down and has worked fine since. So if that happens to you, a little patience may solve the issue. Overall, it’s a nice decorative light. The only feature I wish it had is a timer option.
