It is nice and shiny and looks and feels similar to real hair. It attaches securely on top of the hair via small clips that snap into place that provided a reasonably firm hold. Unlike a previous topper that I tried which was too bulky, this one is a bit flatter and sits nicely on the hair. Well worth trying. I have the black one and the color is natural looking and blends well with my hair.
