I used it to drain a water heater into a toilet at the same height. 40 gallons in about 5 minutes or so. I didn't time it but it was quick enough to not be annoying. The wires are very thin but it does come with an on of switch inline and leads to connect to a car battery. Also nice to see it comes with a spare impeller, a pretty robust dirty water screen/pickup and some other parts. I used it with a higher current 12v power supply and had no issues but I can't imagine it draws much current.
