Excellent light output. I like the simplicity of the controls. Light output/strobe/SOS feature is set with easy to turn selector ring with very positive position detents. When you turn on the light, you get the intensity /feature selected. No cycling through different levels/features with the power button. When you pick up the light, you easily see the intensity/feature mode selected. I also own the 105. Which is a very noticeable upgrade in output and has a larger lens size. The 104 is more comfortable in a pocket and very adequate for most tasks. 105 is a more intense output but bulkier. The 105 is my preferred "nightstand" light and I also have one in my LE gear Bag. The 104 is a very good compromise between light output and size. As for features, the strobe is fast and grabs your attention. It is also sufficiently distracting if shined into someone's eyes. Some folks criticize the SOS feature, but I say if you done like it, don't use it. I also fly and I keep a 104 in the plane. Pilots, hikers, etc. might like having the SOS feature. SOS feature selection is at the end of the dial. Both the 104 and 105 are tremendous values. If you done mind spending the extra money and are ok with the larger size, I think you will like the output of the 105. The 104 is a great light for the money and will likely meet the needs of most users. As for the colored lenses, I keep the red and green in the plane for night use. All color caps reduce light output significantly, but that is not unusual. They are there for a purpose. They fit snugly. I expect most users will have little use for them, but for some, they add a bit of utility in special applications without driving the cost up. I hope this was helpful. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great alternative to the more expensive stuff *by M***B on Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2014* This a great flashlight. I bought this specifically for night land navigation. I wanted a powerful LED light with filters and not red LEDs for night vision. At maximum setting and with red filter on I was still able to spot a target 100m away with no difficulty. Actually, 200m targets re pretty easy to spot as well. The drawback is that the emitted is more pink than red (as expected when trying to filter 190 lumen) and no retention of nigh vision. Also even on the lowest setting this light is too strong to read a map. I recommend carrying an extra red light for that. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great piece. Much brighter than expected. *by C***B on Reviewed in the United States on December 14, 2014* I purchased this unit along with the smaller LXL435001 and I keep this one in my nightstand along with my M&P45. The tac strobe function is blindingly bright. I inadvertently blinded my wife when I loaded the batteries for the first time. I hope that I never need to use this function again but I believe that this flashlight won't let me down if I do.I like that the intensity selection is not linked to the power button so that I don't need to cycle to find the level of illumination that I want. This light is SOLID and the knurled barrel makes me feel confident that I'll never drop it. The included light filters are quality pieces as well and snap in place securely.
