A standing desk doesn't work for me because standing too long hurts my back. So I bought this product hoping to get some exercise at work, and that maybe it would also help keep loosen up my hips and lower back.It's a good product. It's heavy enough that it doesn't slide all over the place, the pedal movement is very smooth, the tension is adjustable, and it makes no noise at all. Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to use it quite the way I had hoped. Quite a few of the reviewers said they were able to use it at their desk without bumping their knees on the underside of the desk, so I had hoped I'd be able to just sort of absentmindedly pedal throughout the day while I work. But I'm a 5'6" woman, and even with desk chair adjusted as low as it will go, there isn't enough room under my desk (a traditional wood office desk) to pedal. So I still keep the bike under my desk, but in order to use it, I have to pull it out. So every hour I'm trying to take a short break from working and pedal for a few minutes. It requires me to make a concerted effort and make the time, and of course I'm really bad at motivating myself to do that, which is the main reason I was hoping I could just pedal while working. But it's still a good product and I'm glad I bought it. It just means I'm going to have to be better at self-motivating.For those who do have a slightly taller desk and can actually pedal while working, there is one design feature that leaves room for improvement, and that's the stirrups on the pedals. They are made of a flexible plastic that doesn't hold its shape, so you can't easily slip your feet in and out of them under your desk. You have to bend down and hold them open while you put your feet into them.
