Classical guitars have the 3 nylon strings and 3 metal. It has a tuner which helps. The strings need adjusting but i like the guitar. **Q: Is there a case that would fit this guitar available on Amazon?** A: I really don't know about the hard-shell cases. Because I record mostly at home...soft cases have been sufficient. The guitar is 2 3/4 inches in depth,if that helps. **Q: I'm looking for a slim line style guitar. Are you able to tell me what it measures for the depth? i.e. how far I'll have to reach around it.** A: The stagg guitar is very inexpensive but plays well. I bought it because it is a thinline. It appears to be about 11/2 inces deep, 2 at the most. I had shoulder replacement surgery and am unable to get my arm around most guitars. It was manageable for me. The nut is pretty wide and thus the strings are not close to each other like on most electric guitars. I liked that because I am trying to learn fingerstyle (classical) picking and I was stumbling between strings when I tried to form chords on a regular electric. For the money, it's a great starter guitar and the least expensive thinline acoustic/electric guitar I have yet found in my research. My ideal guitar would be the Godin Multiac and one day I hope to have one. Good luck.
