    Good book for those who are unfamiliar with the park!

This is a pretty good book for those who are unfamiliar with the smoky mountains. I did not find it as helpful as I thought I would since I have hike many of the trails and was pretty familiar with the park. It has some great day hikes and a few over night hikes list in here. One nice thing is that it show the elevation change over the trail, which is great for figuring out how tough the trail will really be. Overall I found this book to help with planning some new day hike loops and over night hikes.

    Doesn't Cover All The Trails We Wanted

The book is focused on 41 hikes, but is missing many hikes that we love (Ramsey Cascades?  LeConte via Alum Cave?).  This shows how many trails are in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park!The Kindle edition was laid out nicely, but we returned it because it didn't cover the content we wanted.

Well-written and well-worth the money if you are planning a GSMNP hike.  The narrative/trail descriptions are the most useful.  The maps are okay, but not great, so plan to supplement w/ a more detailed trail map if you can.
