Amazing!
I don't know what Limbsaver puts in these recoil pads but if they charged twice as much, it's still be worth it!This is my second Limb Saver recoil pad. My first was purchased at a local gun shop for my Encore rifle and I was amazed by it. A perfect fit to the synthetic stock and excellent reduction in felt recoil.I installed this recoil pad (purchased through Amazon) on my Ruger Red Label 20 gauge and the reduction in recoil was very noticeable. The fit wasn't perfect but it's within a 1/16" of an inch at the bottom of the wood stock and flush at the top of the comb. Maybe it fits better with other production ysars? Either way, I'm thrilled again!

This recoil pad and others I have installed like it in the past do help with the "felt ...
This 4 star review is on the performance of this Limbsaver Precision-Fit Recoil Pad, NOT on the Fit of it on my buttstock. This recoil pad and others I have installed like it in the past do help with the "felt recoil" and are a welcome replacement to most factory buttstock pads. That said I find the advertised 70% recoil reduction to be a little exaggerated, but still it does lower the effect of the recoil on the shoulder. How much? I couldn't tell you exactly, but I will keep in on my 308, because it is significant enough where my 60 year old shoulder thanks me for it.Now I researched on the SVL (Limbsaver) website and other sites many times over and came up with this Limbsaver #10601 for my BROWNING BLR - (Lightweight '81 Stainless Take-Down Lever Action). It states the Browning BLR (among others) on their website for this model # 10601 and I measured my buttstock (with factory Buttpad removed of course) and it seemed to be and exact match to the Limbsaver #10601 "Template" measurements using a stick ruler. I even printed the template and cut it out to lay on top of the buttstock and again it "seemed" to be an exact match. Yes, I got lucky for a change perhaps. "NOT!"When the Pad was delivered, I immediately installed it on the BLR Stainless Take-down and there was about - 1/8 inch low overlap on the narrow bottom end and the same -1/8 inch low overlap on the top end of the buttstock. Basically, the Pad "did-not" line up correctly and it was a staggered overlapping on the top and bottom. It seemed that the pad was the correct size, but that the hole dimensions were off for this particular BLR Take-Down. Maybe the regular BLR's are a perfect fit, I couldn't answer that and neither could Sims Laboratories and Browning through multiple E-mails.Instead of sending the pad back to Amazon for the $24 minus the return shipping of about $7, I decided to retrofit this pad buy elongating the holes (the hole dimension different was too small to drill new holes of course) 1/8 inch towards the top end of the Limbsaver where it came up short to a flush fit. This way the pad could move up an 1/8 inch and sit flush.Well to end a long story, it worked out fine and the top and bottom are now flush, "EXCEPT" after all of that research, measuring, drilling and installiing, now I find that there is a very slight overlap on the widest portions of the side conture. May a 1/16 inch on each side where you fingers can feel the overhang on both sides now. "SO", this Pad #10601 is not a perfect fit after all even with all the careful research and fitting.Does it bother me on my brand new $1200 Browning? Absolutely!! I took it off and it will go into my junk drawer for maybe another rifle down the road or just sit there in it's package.Just on note folks: Any one thinking of getting the Browning BLR '81 Stainless Take-Down) Lever Action, "BEWARE"!!! There are very limited (if any) aftermarket accessories for this rifle. Days of research turns up nothing. NOT even Browining's own "BLR" accessories are compatible with their own Take-Down model and they don't make any either. This Take-Down is an oddball in the BLR series even though it is a gorgeous rifle. To do it all over again, I would not have purchased the Take-Down model. Only I had to have the Stainless and the Straight Grip Stock which they do-not make. Thanks for reading and I hope this helps someone who has a BLR Take-Down skip the Limbsaver and save yourself the aggravation and money.

It's hard to beat limb saver recoil pads, but this did not fit my old rifle.
I took a chance buying this to replace the recoil pad on an old Remington Sportsman 78 long action. It had a cheap and lousy wood stock that I was refinishing for fun. The old recoil pad was a universal one that I had trimmed to size, but had cracked over the last 20 years. Sadly, this one was smaller than my original stock. I ended up putting it on an old Savage 99 that we intend to shoot. It wasn't a match fit for that stock either, but was close enough for shooting.Limb saver is my top choice for recoil pads and I highly recommend them. They make shooting far more comfortable. I have a slip-on limb saver pad on an old Mosin-Nagant rifle and it is just pleasurable to shoot now.

Great product with caveat for Remington 1100 owners!
I bought this for my Remington 1100, model year of 1968 with a Woodstock and a slightly curved rear back plate. That curve is typically peoples bane, some people will saw their shotgun flat to get these things to fit or resort to other means. No modification to the gun is necessary. The chart on the manufacturer‘s website will actually point you to the wrong part number if you have one of these older guns with the curved rear would stock. After calling Limbsaver tech-support pointed me to model 10800 for my shotgun. Now this model will only be dimensionally perfect with two exceptions that you will have to make The following alterations on your own: 1: only the top screw hole will line up perfectly you will need to drill a new bottom one with a quarter inch drill bit, again you’re drilling this hole into the limb saver not your firearm, I never modified my 1100 in anyway I just put a new hole into the recoil pad and you can’t even tell him the final product. 2: The model 10800 is flat and won’t fit the curve of the wood out of the box here is what you do, you will place it in a pan of boiling water and heat it for about five minutes, I then pulled the recoil pad out of the boiling water with tongs and immediately into a towel, Grasping it from both ends with the towel while it’s still hot bow the recoil pad, It will take firm and even pressure but you don’t have to muscle it too hard. And it’s easy to go too far you only need to add a very slight bow. Keep checking it against your 1100 and when you have the perfect curve simply attach it Using your new lower screw hole and stock upper. Surprisingly I got it right the first try, like I said don’t add too much curve it looks like you need more than you really do. As you can see from the attached pictures it does not stick out anywhere, top, bottom, sides, The model 10800 matches the width and height of the wood perfectly you just need to add the slight bow if your 1100 has the curved rear plate. I’ve been all over the Internet and I’m almost convinced that I’ve got the first working solution with this procedure!

Fits Stevens 555 O/U 12 gauge
I spent a long time looking at several different recoil pads for my Stevens 555. This one was so close that I didn’t have to grind it to fit. I may in time tweak it a little but for now I’ll just roll with it. Other reviews mention how sticky the rubber is. Not the case with mine. Maybe the cleaning solvent is making it that way? IDK?
