Good Job Al Bohsali. *by B***R on Reviewed in the United States on August 17, 2021* I purchased the Al Bohsali Maamoul Pistachio 24 pc.THE BADWhen I first opened the box and removed the protective individual cover, I almost had a heart attack... The maamoul was not the typical elongated pistachio maamoul... It had the shape of the Dates Maamoul that I hate beyond words.I was going to call Amazon and ask for an immediate refund...Still, I developed the courage to open the mamouul with extremely high blood pressure, I was soooo relieved to see pistachios not dates.THE GOODAll is good afterwards... The protective cover has been changed now to very dark green, the "new" round and thick shape allows AL Bohasli to put in more Pistachio filling, and much less dry and crumbly semolina-butter dough. THAT alone kept the dough moist and cohesive. Sinking your teeth into such delightful mamoul is a total sin... and it gives you the full bite you remember from Lebanon....Congratulations, Al Bohsali... These are excellent and probably the best I have had in the United States so far. So glad they are available! The nut filled ones where a little overcooked (darker on the outside than I am used to) and some of the walnut ones had giant pieces of walnut in them. They are still the best in flavor, texture and how thin the cookie layer is surrounding the stuffing. Was surprised to see that it was a pistachio shell 1/2 inch in size. It is sad, that while the maamool tasted good, this happened. Now I have to go to the dentist and pay a dentist fee to fix my tooth. It is very sad that the pistachios were not diligently cleaned from their shells before filling the maamool pastry. For the price, one would expect outstanding quality.
