Review: Easy to grow and looks good - During the pandemic I started growing clover all around my 1/2 lot. I tried four different kinds and this red clover has been one of the most successful. It grows easily and looks nice. I did not get too many flowers with my first planting but I think that was due to planting the seeds way, way, way too densely. The plants are a nice shade of green and stayed green through out the winter (I live in Silicon Valley). I was surprised to see them growing into the 2nd season. Apparently the plants will last a few years. One caution though. When you plant these seeds you must cover them with a thin layer of dirt. I did an experiment where I planted one patch with a thin layer of dirt and an adjacent patch with no dirt cover. The bare patch did not germinate successfully. Perhaps if I had watered the bare seeds multiple times per day they batch would have survived. In any event, I would very strongly recommend that these seeds be planted with 1/8 to 1/4 of dirt on top to get optimal germination success and also to minimize the gardening effort in the first week weeks of life. Anther suggestion is to follow the recommendation on density of seeds. If you plant the seeds too dense then you get a really dense mass of clovers but I think it makes it harder for any individual plant to flower. A final observation on this plant. In the fall last year these plants were looking bad. I thought that they had run their course (usually red clover are listed as "annuals") so I cut them down using the lawn mower at its lowest setting. My thought was that there would die and I would plant something new in that location. I was surprised that the cutting rejuvenated the plants going into the winter and they grew out fresh new foliage that looked great even now.
Review: Seed is very durable and germinates quickly. - This seed terminates quickly. Bought smaller bag last fall and then decided to buy more this spring. I give up on growing grass with the drought-like weather we get anymore!

## Features

- PERENNIAL & VERSATILE APPLICATIONS: Our Trifolium Pratense (red clover seeds), lasting 3-5 years, are perfect for cover crops, food plots, pasture mixtures, hay, and silage. Our clover seeds grow to 24 inches and are widely grown in temperate regions. They often persist longer due to self-seeding, making them highly versatile. They are suitable for bulk planting in backyard, gardens, lawns, and food plots.
- ADAPTABLE GROWTH & SOIL IMPROVEMENT: Our inoculated red clover seed thrives in USDA Zones 3-9 and full sun environments, flourishing in various climates, soil types, and fertility levels. It establishes vigorously, improving soil structure, and fertility through nitrogen fixation. This supports sustainable agriculture and is beneficial for gardening and xeriscape designs.
- COMPANION PLANTING: Naturally resistant to plant sickness, our red clover flower seed is ideal for crop rotation. It can be grown with cool-season perennial grasses or alone, providing nutritious forage throughout the seasons and enhancing green pasture productivity. It is excellent for erosion control and natural garden landscaping.
- ATTRACTS POLLINATORS & HIGH YIELD: Extremely attractive to bees and other pollinators, our flowering red clovers supports a healthy ecosystem. It often yields more seed than crimson clover, white clover, mini clover & other clovers, with a longer growing season ensuring consistent and reliable forage for livestock. Ideal for wildflower gardens and attracting deer, rabbits, and other wild life.
- EASY PLANTING & SEASONAL GUIDELINES: Plant these red clover seeds at 1/2 lb per 1,000 sq ft or 8-16 lbs per acre, with a seeding depth of 1/4 inch. In the north and central regions, plant in late winter to early spring; in the south, plant in autumn for optimal growth and maximum crop potential. The seeds are coated with inoculant for better establishment and yield potential, ensuring robust growth and high germination rates.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How tall does this grow? I live in Northern Utah, is this a good environment for this type of clover? Does it spread out on it's own, pervasive?**
A: The clover only grows a few inches tall, and yes it spreads on its own fairly well, but it is not invasive. If it gets into an area you don't want it, just keep it mowed or till it under and you can kill it back. Sorry but I don't know anything about the Southern Utah growing condition. My suggestion would be to check with your seed supplier and look for recommended growing zones.

**Q: Do you need to till the ground first?**
A: No, you do need to cover seed however. In most areas. Germination begins after a rain or with watering the soil over 75 degrees Fahrenheit. They can germinate in temperatures as low as 45'F but to safeguard against frosts, it is better to plant after dangers of frost. Water each day for 4 days if it has not rained recently. This offers adequate time for solid soil support and moisture for new roots. This variety blooms after about 45 days of growth. It will rebloom all summer especially if blooms are eaten off early on. Do not mow frequently. Plants can tolerate about two mowings a season. Reseed yearly as this species acts as an annual most times. It is a perennial in lower temporate regions.

**Q: Is this a medium or mammoth variety?**
A: This is a medium variety. It didn't do well last year because of the late season planting, but is coming up beautifully this spring.

**Q: How tall does the red clover get**
A: I have a red clover in the front that stands 2 ft. tall with a flower that's huge. I use this however in yard as grass so I mow it a lot. But just planted Crimson in native yard. They seem to get about a foot but their flowers are so soft!
