Review: Very Effective After You Get Used to It - Overall, I certainly recommend this unit as an effective means to block robocalls and scam calls. The unit was very easy to set up. You can set it up either in series with one of your landline phones or in parallel mode. The only difference I can determine is that, in parallel mode, the phone to which it is connected also rings one time before the unit either blocks the call or lets it through. With that in mind, I'd suggest setting it up in series with your bedroom phone, so you won't hear the first ring. You have to work with it for the first week or so because there will be a lot of robocalls in your local area that aren't in the unit's memory. We've been working at it and now, after two weeks, we get maybe 1-2 calls per day that aren't yet blocked. Go ahead and set up the options, such as blocking all VOIP and private calls. It's easy to follow the instructions about how to do this. It may take 2-3 times to finally block a call you think you've blocked already. The only problem we're having is that, every so often, the unit will not release the call. Our phone's display reads "line in use". I have to disconnect the unit before I can get a dial tone. I'm not sure if this has to do with series versus parallel or perhaps because our alarm company is interrogating our system. I plan to follow up on both of these issues.
Review: Four Failures and Replacements During First Year, Dead and Out Of Warranty in 15 Months - This stands as my lone negative review for a product purchased through desertcart. The Call Blocker V10000 was purchased in February 2019 as a birthday present for my wife. The woman abhors robocalls as much as I, and for $135.00 the V10000 was to be the "ticket" to give robocallers a taste of their own medicine. Fat chance. Plugged into an old AT&T landline digital 4 mail box answering machine phone it took the V10000 about 2 to 3 weeks before it failed with an assortment of errors, cleared by unplugging and then the "Fail" screen, marking the end of its brief useful life. The unit was replaced and failed 3 more times over the span of 4 months. Out of complete desperation to avoid having to refund my purchase price under warranty, Call Blocker's tech support instructed me to plug the unit into a "Y" connection separate from the answering machine phone. That seemed to do the trick and the unit "functioned" for the next nearly 12 months. In retrospect I should have shoved the soon to crap out unit just 3 months past warranty down the throats of Call Blocker, because now I'm out $135. During those 12 months the "Block Now" button for calls in process failed to work and the "Current Calls" feature routinely locked up requiring an unplug and replug to clear. Frequently I would wake up to the "Block Now" button illuminated and again had to unplug and replug to clear. With near constant screwing around with the unit I was able to block received calls and delete the call list. Rare joy when a blocked number called again and got rejected with the evidence of a single ring and the number left on the current calls and our caller ID device. Prior to acquisition of the V10000, we used our caller ID and answering machine to screen calls, e.g. no message = robocaller, nuisance caller. When those calls came from the same number over a brief period of time I went to AT&T and Phone Features to block the number (up to 100 numbers), after which I could check the call history to see if the number continued to dial my number. I will be going back to my original call screening process with Caller ID and AT&T Phone Features to block nuisance repeating calls. When the V10000 "worked", roughly 5% of the numbers that I had blocked ever called back (the single ring evidence of a blocked caller calling back. That is a hard justification for what was a $135 contraption, now $99.95 that worked unreliably at best and ultimately failed in 15 months out of warranty (12 months). This is the first piece of electronics I've owned costing more than $10, with no moving parts to give up the ghost in barely more than one year and operate poorly the entire time. In short, the V10000 is an overpriced piece of junk that hopelessly fails to live up to its expectations while intermittently doing the job it was designed and built to do.

## Features

- Satisfying Protection in One Tap : Stop robocalls cold with the big red button. Instantly block up to 2,000 numbers yourself, plus 10,000 known scam numbers preloaded. There’s nothing like the feeling of shutting down a scammer mid-ring.
- Easily Switch Between Block and Allow Modes: Want to only receive calls from trusted numbers? Just press and hold the ALLOW LIST button until “SUCCESSFUL” appears on the screen - your Call Blocker is now in Allow Mode (Whitelist). Switch back any time to resume normal blocking mode.
- Know the Trade-Offs : Allow Mode works best when carefully managed. If you change modes or reset the unit, your list will need to be rebuilt. Excellent once set up for a stable list of trusted contacts.
- Built for Landlines, Not Apps : Designed for traditional analog landlines without Wi-Fi or apps. We recommend pairing the V10000 with your phone provider’s spam filtering services for better coverage.
- Reliable Peace of Mind for Seniors and Families : The V10000 keeps calls from trusted contacts ringing through while blocking the rest. You can add allowed numbers from recent calls or manually using your phone’s keypad. It’s a great fit for households that want control without complexity - just set it and enjoy the quiet.
- CALLER ID SERVICE IS REQUIRED FROM YOUR NETWORK PROVIDER FOR THIS PRODUCT TO WORK. WORKS WITH VOIP LANDLINE, BUT DOES NOT WORK WITH BUSINESS VOIP

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does the blocked call still display on handset? Does this blocker display blocked phone numbers?**
A: I have had this device about 3 weeks now. Had 5-6 unsolicited calls per day - 6 days a week, this stopped them all. Calls you want (Family, friends etc...) still display info on caller ID, phone rings, acts like you want. The blocked calls, either entered by you or preprogrammed into device, never come to the phone. This device stops them on the incoming side of device and you never know they are calling (no ring - no caller ID, you get no trace). No trace the call was coming other than pure silence of no obnoxious phone calls. You MUST read installation instructions and follow. I put together as "I thought, this is simple". Had to go back and read installation and then worked as advertised. Do not be scared, no assemble required with this device. All that is required is plugging your phone lines into the device and onward to your phone using specified plug ports on device. Very easy - just follow instructions. I tried Federal & State Do Not Call List (waste of Tax Payer money), Nomorobo, phone company blocker lists (they limit to 10 calls in memory). Don't waste your time with those methods,,,, this has WORKED for me. Hope this helps.

**Q: I get my phone serice via cable. only after i bought your model v5000 did i learn that it did not work on cable. is this another version of the same?**
A: I have Comcast phone service and my V5000 has been working fine for about 2 years now. In addition to the preprogrammed numbers I am up to 812 blocked nuisance/robo call numbers. Thank God for my V5000!!

**Q: can you set a number to blocked via the phone? i.e. press 1 or 2 on the phone handset to block?**
A: B.O.B. You need to push "#" and then "2" from your phone to make this work. This can be mis-leading , you think they are trying to say "hit the number 2 to block call when they are saying hit the number sign and then the 2 to block a call. Hope this helps for this is truly a bueatiful piece of equipment when it is doing it's job !!!!!

**Q: I have a Ooma Telo system. The Ooma blocks only 250 numbers so I need more storage. Does this blocker work with the Ooma?**
A: The V202 -does- work with Ooma - but the V208 does -not-.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It works like it should.
*by R***X on August 8, 2025*

They should have made this 10 years ago. It actually does what what its supposed to do. The V10,000 blocks every call not on the "Allow List". It's easy to program and works great. For your information, when the callblocker is set to let every call through, the number of the caller is saved and displayed. You can then scan through the numbers and tap the allow button on the numbers you want to save. When the callblocker is set to block every call not on the allow list, it does not display the blocked numbers, BUT, your phone's caller id display still works. If a blocked number calls, your phone might light up but it won't ring and the answering machine won't pick up. I have ATT and they have a call history feature where I can see the last 100 calls, time, date, name if listed. One more thing. If you manually add a number to the allow list, check to see if you need a "1" in front of the area code. I needed it for it to work right.
