Giglio Classic Style Unisex Italian Hand Crafted Vacchetta Cowhide Leather Document Tablet Briefcase With Strap Made In Italy

I love this bag, I love the colour and the quality of the leather. What I do NOT love however is the fact that both the fastenings holding the shoulder strap are have broken and the pin holding the hand strap on has also fallen out (leaving the hand strap broken). Unfortunately I had a the bag a fair while before I started using it, so am unable to return it. As I love it so much I have fashioned a bodged repair job for the shoulder strap, but why put cheap fastening on what could otherwise be a very nice bag?To update my review:Since posting this on Saturday 12th Dec I have had numerous correspondence from Giglio Customer services who have been most apologetic and helpful. In the interim they are going to send a replacement strap, and although they acknowledge there is a fault with some of the clips, they are looking into replacing them and will then provide me with a further strap if this one also breaks. As for the handle, they are happy to provide me with paid postage and to fix/replace as necessary at my convenience (which we have both agreed will be in the new year).So yes, I am still sad my bag broke, BUT the customer service I have received has (so far) been exemplary.

I bought this for work to replace my previous briefcase. I use it daily & it is coping well with such regular use. The leather is excellent quality, as are the zips/magnetic poppers. The leather takes a while to soften, but in a good way. If it had softened in a week or so I suspect it wouldn't be in such good condition now, after 6 months of daily use.It's a pity they don't do this in black, which is the colour I would have preferred, but now I have got my head around the fact my shoes & bag don't match, it's not an issue!! I would definitely buy another if and when this one needs replacing. At the rate it's going however, this might be quite a number of years away.

After a year of daily use, no signs of wear and tear, not just on the part of leather, but also with locks and zippers, which I'm obviously very happy about, given the price of the product. Some threads peeling from the shoulder strap but other than that, this thing pretty much looks like new. V. good value for money!

I have only had this a couple of weeks but it is just as described, seems well made fits my laptop a Vostro 3460 well but any larger and it might struggle. The leather seems good, smells like leather but is not at all strong. The two disappointments which I should have been aware of is no lining (which might be good as it can't wear out and no interior pockets.The leather is very stiff and edges quite hard but it will age hopefully gracefully.Very good value but if you have the money maybe a Visconti is a better buy, but I couldn't justify the doubling of the price so I'm very happy.Mike

Very nice looking bag.Bear in mind that if you carry a laptop with it, the bag has no built-in padding. You might therefore want to use a separate padded sleeve. If you do this, the largest size laptop you can carry is around a 15"; I carry a Macbook Pro 15" in this way and it fits quite snugly. The larger side pocket is a good size for the charger.

Lovely leather. Great colour. I had an almost identical one ( more sturdy handle and strap I think ) which I used for work for 30 years and it is now tired and mis-shapen. That one had no lining and this has - but I'm not sure how positive that is..... It perhaps has a stiffening effect. So I have to reserve judgement on performance and durability! Fits my MacBook perfectly. I love it.

I just got my briefcase and made the change. Everything I was carrying in the old one fits in this.My big concern was the shoulder strap mentioned in the majority of the ratings, but I got two. One stronger and the original one. All good and and looks and smells good! I’m pleased. Will use it until it falls apart. As described.

This is a stylish item, with the feel of real leather and shiny metal buckles and hooks. The size if pretty perfect to take to work, carry easily and put documents and an iPad in it. It looks like it would hold a 15" laptop without difficulty too. The removable shoulder strap gives it versatility, so you can use it as an document holder and also as a "man bag". I am happy with it, but would be happier if it had internal pockets to help me find smaller items more easily, and if the front pocket flaps were easier to button up - at the moment the flaps are reluctant to stay down and the poppers are not easy to click shut.
