## Overview

The MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 GT Touring Radial Tire (120/70R17 58W) is engineered for sport-touring motorcycles, offering superior wet surface braking with 17% shorter stopping distances, 20% longer tread life than its predecessor, and enhanced stability for heavy loads thanks to MICHELIN 2AT technology. Designed for year-round use, its directional tread and robust 12-ply construction deliver a confident, comfortable ride on all road types.

## Description

The MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 GT tire offers excellent grip even in cold and wet conditions and on all types of road surfaces. MICHELIN 2AT is incorporated in the MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 GT tire in order to provide the additional stability needed for larger sport-touring motorcycles which this tire was designed for. Thanks to MICHELIN 2CT technology, new tread compounds and a redesigned tread pattern, MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 tires last on average 20% longer than MICHELIN Pilot Road 3 tires. Additionally, these tires feature chamfered sipe edges that help prevent abnormal wear in heavy braking and other extreme conditions.

Review: Great upgrade over factory - I've had this tire on my 2013 Yamaha FJR1300A for a few hundred miles and I can say with confidence that this tire blows the factory tires away. The handling going into and around corners makes me feel drastically more confident in the bike's capabilities. Comparing the estimated tread life on these to the 4,000 miles I got out of the factory tires makes these tires an even more obvious choice. I would recommend these tires to anyone with a larger sport touring bike like my FJR who values both performance and longevity. If you regularly ride two-up or pack heavy, make sure to go with this GT version instead of trying to save the extra few dollars by going with the normal version. My Rating Standards: - 5 Stars: The product is exactly as described, completely fulfills it's intended purpose, AND I feel it is definitely worth it's current full retail price. - 4 Stars: The product is mostly as described, adequately fulfills it's intended purpose, AND I feel that interested buyers would be likely to consider it worth it's current full retail price. - 3 Stars: The product may be slightly different or lower quality than described, barely fulfills it's intended purpose, OR I have concerns over whether or not interested buyers may be likely to consider it worth it's current full retail price. - 2 Stars: The product may be substantially different or lower quality than described, failed to fulfill it's intended purpose, OR I feel that interested buyers would be unlikely to consider it worth it's current full retail price. - 1 Star: The product was completely different or lower quality than described, in no way fulfilled it's intended purpose, AND I feel that it is definitely not worth it's current full retail price.
Review: Great tire - Have purchased this set of tire multiple times for my sport bike, they hold up well and great product for the price!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this the PR4 or PR4-GT?**
A: These are NOT the GT style Pilot Road 4

**Q: My bike weighs a total of 785lbs with me on it, is this a safe front tire for that weight range ??**
A: Yes, absolutely. I do a lot of long distance riding., as in Kentucky to Alaska sort of long distance. I ride a BMW R1200RT that is a sport touring bike weighing in at 604 without gear. I pack enough gear for 7+ days of motorcycle camping (tent, air mattress, cooking supplies, etc) so I am guessing that I have over 100lbs of gear on a given trip, putting me over 700. Covering this kind of distance with a combination of spirited back road riding and highways, rain, heat, snow (in CO), this tire has been awesome! I was running with Contis before and they are a little bit less expensive but in my opinion, this tire will do the job very well and is worth the premium.

**Q: Is this the zr it just says r but is the same item number as the zr?**
A: When you get the tire it will have ZR on it. Yes

**Q: What is the DOT date code on this tire?**
A: HB7D 02RX 0618. Got this tires I believe in August 2018
