The ingredients needed are so exotic that I don’t even know where I would buy them like lemongrass stalk, mirin, filé powder, Manila clams, borlotti beans, sorrel leaves. You get the idea. And lots of heavy cream which my gallbladder can’t handle. The book itself is beautiful & nicely organized but 95% of these soups are uncommon to your average American & I’d only consider eating them on a special occasion at a fancy restaurant. If you can afford a your own personal chef, this might be the book for you. Other than that, Nope! I’m glad I only paid $5 bucks for this book.
