This hardy species thrives with minimal care, requiring only a water-filled tray to flourish. Perfect for adding a touch of elegance and fragrance to any garden space. ## Description Honeysuckle x tellmanniana was raised at the royal Hungarian horticultural school in Budapest around 1920 and is a hybrid cross between locker sempervirens and locker tragophylla. It is one of the finest of the climbing honeysuckles. Large terminal clusters of coppery yellow flowers with a red flush in bud are freely produced from may to July. Locker x tellmanniana is unusual in that it prefers to grow in semi shade and will succeed in full shade. It is a vigorous grower and will quickly cover whatever it is planted against. Can be used in a mixed planting or as a stand alone specimen in the garden or can easily be grown in a pot or container. Requires a frame work of some description to twine around. If it becomes to large it can easily be cut back immediately after flowering. When growing in a pot or other container. Use a good quality john inns compost as this plant will be there a long time and peaty types of compost eventually degrade and become too packed and choke the roots. Ensure you feed regularly as a hungry plant is a poor performer. We recommend a controlled release fertiliser of 8-9 month duration applied in spring.
