To recharge, you simply slide the unit off its backplate (which screws into the wall) and charge it with a USB charger (the older type, not the C type. The picture is surprising clear, and the coverage area is quite wide. Connecting to my smartphone was also easy with their Ubell app. You take the batteries out of the unit and remove the protective tabs. Then reinsert the batteries and charge. Simple. Then there are 3 different ways to connect to the unit, which are clearly explained and easy to do. I used the wifi connection one myself.I bought the unit because I live remotely in the mountains and want to do know who is at the door before I go to open it, and this meets that need flawlessly. I think in this day and age, everyone should have a unit like this just for security reasons. A very nice unit. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Better than ring *by J***Y on Reviewed in the United States on September 18, 2018* This product is better than ring because it has video on demand you could view your front door at any time take a video or snapshot right to your phone or turn on the motion sensor and have to go to the free cloud and then if you want to keep it download to an internal SD card. if you connect this to existing wiring it will not ring your existing chime you must remove your chime connect the two wires together using a fuse or a splice this will give power to your front doorbell wires constant and allow your unit to charge you will need to purchase the wireless doorbell if you want to have a bell ring in your house.
