Outlets come online unlike the photo and written details
Looks like an ok product but I specifically ordered this model because the photo and discription showed the outlets sideways to make room for power transformers that take up room. These came in 90 degrees inline so it will not work for me.

Let me tell you why I love this.
*** disclaimer: people who don't know what they're doing should not mess with electricity, and people who do should make their own decision and not take advice from me ***I basically write reviews if something is a) hilariously terrible or b) a pure delight. (Ok, and a few other times, like when there's info people need.)Anyway, this thing is *such* a delight. I have a zillion powerstrips (don't tell the electrical authorities). The reasons have these feelings about this one are:* The back comes off.* Because the back comes off you can see what's inside, and what's inside is a nerd's dream. The wires are thick, attached well, etc. It is completely non-janky. Beautiful. No extra parts, no circuit boards, no frayed wired, no janky. It so simple you could build the innards yourself.* Also because the back comes off, you can screw it down without using the clips. This is my favorite way to mount a power strip, but it gotten less and less possible over the years, as manufacturers have learned to maximize jank to minimize price. ***see disclaimer above***Love love love. If you're concerned about quality, get this one. Don't take it apart though.

All Aluminum Construction, Super Mounting Hardware
Compared to most power strips, this is a work of engineering art. It's all aluminum construction, which makes it strong and light. Sturdy mounting hardware slides into recessed slots on the back of the device, so with them attached, it mounts absolutely flat against the mount surface. The 12 foot cord appears very sturdy. It's a breath of fresh air compared to the sloppy sheet metal construction of power strips I've purchased in the past. My thanks and compliments to the mechanical engineer who designed this device. It's perfect for my application. I have mounted it under my computer desk so that the outlets are oriented in the same direction as a wall outlet. That way I can populate it with wall warts, and they don't fall out. The cord comes out to the side, rather than up (which is blocked by the desk) or down (which sticks down from the desk). I have it zip-tied to a metal desk support. Even with zip-ties, the rigid aluminum construction makes it feel solid, as if it were bolted to the support.

Well made
There were some comments about this strip having manufacturing issues (metal chips left inside) so I took the one I received apart as soon as I got it. It was *fine*.I'd also mention that anyone who is looking at this power strip, expecting to be able to solder a different cable so as not to have to deal with coiling up the (very long) current one. Forget it. Take a look, you'll see.I ended up cutting the wire and installing a new heavy duty plug. If you do this, be sure to get a replacement plug that is rated 15A. The strip is rated for that, so I expect the circuit breaker is as well - which means it won't protect a plug rated for less than 15A.Having done this, I can tell you the internal conductors are about 12 gauge, or maybe a step heavier. even so, It's not a good idea to bundle cable tightly that has 15A running through it. Don't outsmart yourself like I did - get a strip with the cable length you need. (d'oh!)

Year and a Half
Used it in the garage, just one appliance used at a time. Pressure washer must be what did it in. Tough aluminum housing. internals not heavy duty.

Excellent and adaptable!
Fantastic and simple. The longer cord length allowed me to plug into a spare outlet for the garage door opener and mount it above my workbench without and extension cord. Easy screw mount to the wall keeps it tidy, and easy to swap out plugs.Surge switch is also a handy on/off switch for bench lighting.

Quality product for a good price!
Bought this power strip to use on my lathe bench. The outlets are setup well for my uses, the mounting hardware worked great on my bench and the size was perfect for my bench. It's as if it was made to order. Perfect for my needs. Been thinking of buying one for my leather work bench also, it's just so handy.

Fits what I was looking for
The included mounting hardware attaches with uneven firmness on each side (I own two, both were this way), but once in place they mount very nicely and give a perfect place for extra power where I need it.
