Is it better to frequently strple.it against a sharpening rod or?** A: VG10 steel will not "roll" it's edge like sotfter steel, so a honing rod will do next to nothing. The only way to sharpen hard steels are to use sharpening stones that are made for high-quality cutlery. VG10 keeps its edge extremely well so for the home chef you may only need to put it to a stone twice a year. A 1000 grit stone is course enough to remove very small chips from the edge, which are very easy to get with VG10. But to just bring back the razor edge a 5000-8000 grit stone is ideal. **Q: Does it have "made in china" stamped anywhere on it?** A: made in China usually means "junk" and supports the Chinese Communist Party. I don't buy anything made in China.
