It is heavy duty, especially the spoons. The forks? Well, I don't think you can produce a heavy duty plastic fork. It works well, but the prongs still break off at times depending on whether or not you need to cut or not. My only issue with them was the box they came in. The box is very flimsy and fell apart. I had to tranfer the knives to a different container. But I bought the knives to use, not the box.
