I recently purchased this hat in the khaki color for a fall day trip where I knew I'd be in the sun all day, and it's perfect. Comfortable, fashionable, and it looks just like some hats I've seen for triple the price at department stores. I think it runs a little large, but there's a ribbon inside you can use to adjust how the hat fits on your head. I'm planning to wear this throughout the fall and winter before I migrate back to my straw hat for the warmer months. This is a great buy! I've ordered two of these hats, though and I'm probably going to order more. This is amazing quality.Packaging: there was significant cushioning in the box to protect the hat. There was a dent in the hat upon opening however it popped right out and it is great.Smell: I smell no chemical odors of any kind. It's fine.Texture: if you are familiar with wool, I expected it to be slightly scratchy or flimsy and the hat is fairly stuff, keeps form and is soft texture.Fit: There is an adjustable strap within the hat. I'm probably normally a size small. It adjusts easily and maintains adjustment easily. I'm roughly 21 inch/53.5 cm. Please note dimensions and style. This is not a cowboy hat, I have not tried to form the hat at all so I can't review something like that. This is the style that I wanted-the flat brim may not be for everyone.Quality: This is pretty impressive quality so far.
