Larger apertures will require an additional strip(s) which can be butted up to each other for longer coverage.This product can be trimmed with a saw to suit your door size. The 850mm dimension is usually more than large enough for even an over-sized door and can do a door up to an overall width dimension of about 1 metre. Fitting tip: Measure and cut the strip to fit between the door outer frame uprights (it does not matter if the bar is not a tight fit between as it is the middle of the door that is the highest point of wear & tear. Equally mark out the 4 fixing screw lugs positions along the purpose made V groove drill port line. Drill a 3mm hole through the strip or use a battery screw driver with a cross head end to drive the self-drilling screws in. For best results the bar should finish approx 5mm from each end of the door frame when closed. This will allow for any expansion / movement that you may experience over time. The 4no supplied fixing screws can be counter sunk into the aluminimum kick plate if so desired to give a flush finish if you so desire.This product has been discontinued so once sold there will be no more available. Typically, the long leg of the frame is around about 20 mm higher than the short leg and the door overlaps circa 8mm, but that shouldn't matter. It doesn't matter about the gap from the underside of your door, because this sits on the long leg? so if your door opens inwards, this sits on the outside edge and vice versa if your door opens outwards. hope this helps **Q: can you get this any wider for french doors** A: sorry no they are pre-cut to size at point of manufacture **Q: Can I buy the bronze/gold one?** A: sorry now obsolete **Q: How wide is it please? 850 mm across, but how wide?** A: There is a vertical section of about 10mm then there is a section at about 45 deg which measures about 18mm. Easy to cut to shape with a little hack saw and glued into place.
