The skirt comes with button and zipper closure and a bit of elastic on the waist sides, so you have some room accommodate. The one piece that feels cheap is the red scarf: the material is not as nice as the white one and it comes with serger finish rather than a sewing finish (I hope you understand what I mean). However after trying it on, I think a large may have been fine. I already exchanged from an XXL, so I didn't feel like exchanging again and just stuck with the XL. The XL was ok, the sleeves and shirt itself was a little long for me (I tucked/cropped it in my pics tho) but overall fit comfortably and not too snug. The skirt however was a bit loose. It sits on my waist fine but it pulls off super easily, I'd have to safety pin it tighter to stay secure. Overall though, it's quite comfortable and decent quality/value for the price! I mainly purchased it for a quick halloween/cosplay and applied iron-on transfers on the shirt without any issues. I honestly think the material is comfortable enough to wear to work too.
