Shocked would best describe my reaction to the negative reviews I read today prior to purchasing a second pair today for use at home. I have used these for work, to record my lectures and to dictate my written research for at least 7 hours each week during which time I have experienced no technical problems, more than acceptable battery life, and flawless microphone pickup along with the adequate sound quality I would expect from a mono headphone. I did replace the headset cushion this year, but I hold no expectation that a foam ear cushion should last longer than three years.Another invaluable feature is its light weight. I am essentially unaware of its presence even as I don the unit through three consecutive, 75-minute undergraduate lectures each day I teach. However, this extremely light weight comes at a cost. While the headset is technically impressive and always dependable it is by no means equally durable. I would not lend this headset to any of my minor children, as I treat the headset more or less delicately to maintain its like new condition. Another important design tradeoff is its relatively short Bluetooth range. Clearly the petite, featherweight design was a deliberate compromise between multiple desirable yet competing product features, among them were weight vs durability and battery life vs signal strength. I think what they came up with makes them valuable enough to be glad to have bought my first pair in 2020 and happy to buy my second pair in 2023. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Basic and lightweight headset, cheaply made with subpar battery life and average sound quality *by F***Z on May 27, 2022* I bought this headset to work from home after COVID breakout. At first I thought it was OK despite having to power cycle it several times in order to establish the initial connection every day. Battery runtime at first was about two hours but after 3-4 months it was more like an hour. Faux leather looks all beaten up after one year of daily usage. I paid $32 and at that price point it's an OK purchase but anything above is way overpriced. You can get an used Plantronics Voyager Focus UC headset for under $50. I did exactly that and that headset is miles better in every sense. ### ⭐ Absolute junk *by R***N on November 14, 2022* I seldom leave Amazon reviews, especially negative ones. However, I will with this item. The first one I received would not turn on. The on/off switch was totally defective. I got a replacement yesterday. This one turns on but with my MacBook, it loses the connection every minute or so. The only way to resolve it is to turn the headset off and then back on, wait for it to reconnect, and then reset the accessibility settings to use this microphone to dictate, which I badly need. Also this is very cheaply made and poorly designed. The buttons are hard to find and work with and every time I take it off my head it pulls out clumps of hair.
