Issues: - Outdoor wind speed is very low if you place it low to the ground. You need to place it as high as you can. - led viewing angle, you need to be above it to see it. I installed the unit rather high (attached to chimney) to make sure I was getting accurate wind speeds I also tried using rechargeable batteries but they seemed to discharge rather quickly (app every 4 months). I came up with the idea to keep the rechargeable batteries but connect a small 5 volt solar panel. This setup works perfect. That was app 2 years ago and I haven't replaced a battery yet. Hopefully this helps. **Q: How close does the sender unit need to be to the display?** A: According to the manufacturer the transmitting unit can be up to 300 feet from the reciever. I have my unit on a 12 ft pole approximately 70 feet from the transmitter (outside unit),and it works great, I'm very pleased with this product.. **Q: How much wind history can this store?** A: 48 hours in "replay" mode(30 minute intervals) and also today's high, month's high and all time high in "weather select" mode. **Q: how many days of average wind speed will this record?** A: Not days, average wind speed up to 180 minutes.
