These did not come with a false key to open from other side but you can easily use a small flathead screw driver in an emergency. The stainless steel makes them easy to clean and they don't seem to tarnish like my previous brass ones did. I sprayed the mechanism with silicone spray before I installed them. Hopefully they don't lockup like my previous Wickes ones did. They have a modern clean and contemporary look which I like..
