I enjoy using it to sit by the window but my primary reason for buying it was to serve as a window seat for my American bulldog, Princess. She really enjoys watching the passing street activity. I did screw the bench to the floor with angle brackets so it won't move when she jumps on it. The bench was very easy to assemble. It is very sturdy and the upholstery is tough, yet very elegant looking. The bench is also very comfortable. I am more than pleased with my purchase.

**Q: What is the weight limit for the bench?**
A: 285 pounds

**Q: What color are the wooden legs? Black or dark brown?**
A: Well, if I had to choose between back and dark brown I would say black.  However, it is more of a charcoal color.  So somewhere between dark, dark brown but not quite black.  The paint is a matte sheen so it mellows the dark color.

**Q: Do you need power tools to assemble this bench? Cannot get the screws in the angled holes.**
A: no

**Q: Has anyone tried shortening the legs with a circular saw?  If so, did the legs split or any other issues?**
A: Legs did not split
