I especially liked that the joins between the segments have a detent on one side and a tounge and groove on the other for added rigidity. I had bought a different brand that only had the detent (springy button) and it was too loose. I brought that one back and kept this one. As to the size and usefulness, I brought this to a outdoor concert for my kids to play with. I had kids from 5 to 65 lined up to play. As to the complaint that it was difficult to put together, you must have either had a defective/damaged one or you have NO mechanical skills whatsoever. Honestly, it took me all of 3 minutes to snap it together. Once you get to the last segment, you simply hold bothe sides in each hand and depress them slightly to get them to join. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice warm up hoop during exercise *by P***N on October 9, 2017* My wife uses this hoop as a warm up when exercising.
