I couldn't use the potty pads by themselves because the rabbits would chew them up. With this, as long as I fold the ends under so as not to stick outside the grate, my two rabbits leave the pad alone. I change the pad once in the morning, and once at night.I use clorox wipes to wipe the inside when I change the pads, and I rinse out the grate. If you are considering it for rabbits, I would definitely give it a try.
