Clear beautiful sound at a very good price
Very well packaged, but it arrived DOA. I contacted seller who replied the same day! The issue was that the supplied 2A fuse, while tested OK in HK, was just not up to Catskill Mountain electric power. Replaced it with a 5A fuse on their advice, and it's been working fine for several weeks. Seller was very concerned with customer satisfaction and did everything possible, including sending replacement fuses at no cost. In short, well worth the wait. The last time I owned a tube amp was in the early '70's, so I can't really speak to the technical aspects, however from a sound enjoyment perspective this amp is fantastic! I like my music LOUD, so with the amp's modest output of 30wpc, I use it in a bi-amped system running the Mid-High range on Polk Audio TSi200's with a crossover at 3k5. Plenty of headroom and clear beautiful sound at a very good price. This amp replaced a 12wpc amp that (even with a pre-amp) could not do the job that this one does with finesse. There are reviews out there of this amp running a complete system, generally they're very positive. When time permits, I intend to do some more testing. But it's spring, and I need to get the sheep flock out on pasture. In my "spare time" I'm simply enjoying listening to wonderful sounding tunes.Oh yes, not only does it sound great, is built well, but it looks are dyn-O-mite!

Good sounding amp, not a lot of money
I purchased this a few weeks ago, it arrived in about 7 days from China. The box was secure, the tubes and the amp were undamaged. There is no manual that comes with the amp, but a single piece of paper showing the layout of the tubes. There are a few people who have written up how to re-bias the amp when the main (FU-29) tubes are replaced. It took about 10 hours of use before the tubes really started sounding good. Very clean, crisp mid ranges, natural piano and horns. My speakers are home made and designed around the Tang Band W4-1337SDF full range drivers. This amp is rated at 30 watts per channel, but it it likely less than that. I found with good sensitive speakers, it has more than enough power for small to moderate sized rooms.I plan to replace the FU29 tubes with a pair of Ulyanovsk GU29s in the next couple of months.Overall, good purchase. Needs a manual.

GREAT SOUND FOR SMALL MONEY!
I have one of these, and a friend of mine also has one. These amps sound really very good, there is a synergy between the amp's output source impedance and a typical 2-way speaker's load impedance curve that sounds really "musical" - using this amp with a good 2-way speaker like a PSB Alpha or Polk RTiA3 gives you a system that sounds way better than it should for the money spent. You're not going to "rock the house" with 30 watts per channel unless you have very efficient speakers like Klipschhorns or Zu speakers, but with typical speakers like the Polks you'll still be able to reach satisfying sound levels.Beside the PSB Alpha and Polk RTiA3, there are many other good small 2-ways speakers that one could try with this amp like the Elac Debut 5 or Debut 6, the Wharfedale Diamond x series, maybe also the KEF Q100. The point is there are many reasonably priced 2-way speakers that are a good fit in terms of price and quality. I would bet that this amp would also work well with the pricier Harbeth speakers. The tubes used in this amp are currently in production and easily obtained and in fact even vintage tubes for it are very reasonable priced if you want to try some tube rolling. The FU29 power tubes in this amp are directly equivalent to type 829 and 3E29 tubes, 829 and 3E29's are drop-in replacements, plug-and-play. You can buy nice vintage RCA or GE 829s for about $20 each! If you know tubes, then you know that this is really really low cost for a vintage, quality output tube in an audio amplifier.I've been using mine daily for three years with no reliability issues at all. My friend has used his for five years with only the failure of a single small tube, total cost of $13 to replace.
