It seems to do a good job of getting flakes off my face and gives me a smoother look. The only bad things is if you get it near your eyes you can get little scratchy particles in your eyes. I have found that out the hard way several times. You do have to be very careful with it. I like to put it on my face rub it in really well let it sit for just a few seconds then wet my hands and scrub a second time before rinsing it off completely .
