This is fantastic (apart from the bright light emitted annoys me at night ) - see review-update for suggestion ref this
Usually can’t be bothered to write reviews but felt I should for this. So simple to set up, took me all of 5 minutes. The app that works with it is user-friendly and intuitive. I can now, during winter months, turn my electric blanket on when I’m downstairs watching telly in the evening and when I go to bed, my bed is all warm already. I’m going to get lots more of these. I think a great use will be for my mobile devices which I like to put on charge at night. It isn’t good for the battery-life for them to be on charge after they have reached 100%, so with these smart sockets I can set them to have them on for the two hours just before I wake up.You can make anything come on in your house when you are out and about. (Using the app on your phone) and also add family members so they also control sockets around the house. (You can have one family member to be the administrator.)It is all very easy to use and set up.It also works with Amazon Alexa and Google Home etc, though I haven’t tried that yet.Update: I connected this to my Amazon Alexa. It was very simple to connect, and took me about 5 minutes. However, one thing I have found I really don’t like is the light that is emitted from the socket when it is up connected. It is very bright and lights up my whole bedroom which isn’t good for sleeping . I ended up unplugging it. Tomorrow night I will cover the light with some tape. I think they should make the light much smaller in diameter, or dimmer in brightness.UPDATE: I have discovered there is another smart plu by the same company which only has a very small light which is perfect. The socket is also much small and more like the size of a standard plug. I have also attached a photo of this purchase. It works just as well as the other one, but smaller and there no light-pollution problem with it. Same price . Wi-Fi smart switch.
As the previous review have said, there is a bright blue light which shines from the front so I would recommend that this is used where it is not going to be seen. Download the app (best way is to scan the QE code in the instructions) enter your Wi-Fi password and it's done. Not only can you turn it on/off but you can set it as a timer switch. Either individual days or every day of the week or everyday can be programmed (I bought this to replace an old bulky timer switch for the hallway lamp). I have also added it to Alexa so I can operate it by simply saying "Alexa turn on/off the hallway light". Brilliant whichever way you want to use it.

Works with Google home
I could not get these to connect at first as my Phone was connected to the 5ghz wifi of my router. I needed to connect my phone to the 2.4ghz wifi in order to register the plug. Once I had done this I was able to add the plug to google home by going into the Google Assistant app. Home Control > Devices > +. Look for ‘Smart Life’. Login using the details you created when you registered on the eFamilyCloud app and it all works perfectly.

Powered by ESP8266
If you suspected these have an ESP8266 inside, you're right. Obviously only qualified people should attempt to get to it and a mains switch must be programmed with due care, but if you're a nerd and just want a programmable switch rather than all the shonky app garbage, it can be done. I put MicroPython on mine, and both now act as simple timers for devices that I wanted self-power-off for.Build quality is not brilliant (I'd hope for better physical separation between digital and mains sections inside; I don't think Big Clive would approve) and mine seem to be slightly older ones because they're nominally limited to 10A loads, but honestly if you're leaving a device in this price range unattended with even 10A, you're braver than me.

Great for easy control of lights.
We have a couple of these and use them to control lamps with Alexa. They also allow a schedule, so the lights come on in the morning and evening. They work really well. Some advice: The Alexa app is not brilliant for the initial setup, and sometimes using the browser interface is easier and has more options. (eg I have several Smart Plugs, each with their own 'name', and in addition I grouped them under another 'name' so they can all be switched on/off with a single voice command. As far as I know the Alexa app cannot properly set up these groups, it must be done through the browser).

Hantwin Wi-Fi Smart Plug
Excellent price for a great item. Worked fantastic straight out of the box. Great features and control. Works flawlessly with my amazon echo. Nice and compact unit. Will purchase many more of these. (purchased 2 of these and with a little searching, found you can burn Tasmota - Firmware with a little tinkering onto unit to give even more functionality - ie MQTT etc - not for the faint hearted as you lose the use of the app and easy connection to alexa but great for tech savvie people with home automation). Would recommend.

Really quick delivery
This is the second Wi-Fi plug purchased. The first one (different Manufacturer) took 10 minutes to set up, this one after 2 hours I could not get to connect. Am returning for a refund and will purchase another of the one I purchased previously. Slightly more but well worth buying a more expensive one.Cannot fault the delivery time.

Does not work
Absolute rubbish. Instructions are very vague and unclear. I tried every way of setting it up that I could find online and in the instructions booklet. Very easy to set it up on the app but it just does not work. The app can turn the plug on and off but that does not appear to have any difference on the device I have plugged it. I will be returning.. What a disappointment.
