Installed it two weeks ago and it's automatic. I used a high quality 32GB SD card, formatted it in the camera and presto! Both front and rear videos are nice quality. A recent accident where another driver pulled into me (he admitted fault to everyone but his insurance company denied full responsibility) prompted me to get this camera. After tons of research I selected this one and am glad I did. It's easy to install and is user friendly. I recommend this product.

The Crosstour CR600 can be installed in minutes and is a great device for the price. Most of the installation time is spent in running wires and tucking them in out of the way. I installed the Crosstour CR600 in my Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab with the power hard-wired to the console power feed at the rear-view mirror. The power connection is a mini-USB (not micro) and I was able to order a five volt hard-wire kit. The rear camera is mounted at the top center of the rear window on the outside, looking behind the pick-up. Both front and rear cameras record clear images with a wide viewing angle. The CR600 dash-cam is well worth the price as-is, but if you have a longer vehicle and want to install the rear camera on the back, order a five pin extension cable. And don't forget to order a 32gb microSDHC card.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  The CR600 Dash Cam comes in a nice package; I was surprised with how small and light the dash camera was. Nice product! Very happy with this purchase, the dash cam work well, clear picture and great recording for 1080p.

This is my 3rd dashcam. I wanted one with a rear camera for the car my kid is driving. I wasn't necessarily looking for super quality, and I pray I would never have to pull a footage other than testing the camera, but you will not be able to make out license plates as long as the car is in motion. I included a front and rear screen grab.Couple of major annoyances. One is that videos from the rear camera, everything is mirrored/flipped. Pointing the camera into the cabin, you'll look as if you're driving a right-hand drive car. Second thing is the files are named sequentially - VID_001.MOV, VID_002.MOV and so on, front camera footage are in folder 1, and rear 2 - and not named with the date and time like other cameras do. So you will have to go through many files to look for the one you're after. Also, somehow the front and rear file names somehow got out of sync. My front camera was at VID_098.MOV and the rear ended up being VID_096.MOV for the same footage. Also, the files are unnessarily large for the low'ish quality. Each 3-minute footage is 330MB (rear is 188MB). My other camera with better quality, each 3-minute footage is 275MB. Also, the last footage before it turns off, it is always 330MB even if it's 5 seconds long.Finally one tip - turn OFF WDR (wide dynamic range). Straight out of the box, WDR is on by default, and the videos are way to contrasty and easily blown out. I turned off WDR and it improved greatly. It's almost as if the WDR on and off are reversed.I bought this from a lightning deal which was 20% off. It is an OK deal which is why I gave it 2 stars and not 1. If I hadn't already installed it, I might consider returning it for the flaws listed. At regular price, knowing what I know now, I would've spent more on a better one. However, having poor quality video is still far far better than not having any in the event of an incident. Having a dashcam these days is a must, and for sure having this Crosstour is far better than not having one at all, especially since it has a rear camera.

Perfect dashcam for the price. Does its job and has good quality videos and photos. Captured and accident 2 weeks in with it on and its so easy to use. The hardwire kit is the way to go and I also bought the rearview mirror mount to mount it on the rearview mirror instead of using the 3m double sided velcro. The sun kept making it fall off and the suction cup wont work either so having it mounted to the rearview mirror still gives it its best placement for capturing a wide angle view. Most def recommend to anybody a few of my friends already bought some too!! Thank you crosstour!

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  Bought this to replace my discontinue dual dash cam, it overheated and stopped working correctly. this is a nice quality dash cam with low profile just how i wanted. The video i have up is default setting. day time quality is good for both cam but night time is ok for the front while the rear isn't good. you'll notice that the front cam has a darken ring around the outside of the picture, around each corner. also the front cam kind of records in yellowish color. i don't know if that's normal or maybe a can change it in the settings. Also the rear cam video is mirror to be like your looking at your rear view mirror. 16gb micro sd card saves 60 minutes of each front and rear video with sound, 120 minutes together. for its price i would recommend it. the quality is good but the only down side is the rear cam during the night.I will be modifying it with a heat shield because the sun will be beating down on it. that's how most dash cam die from overheating. i also set the exposure to +3 for a brighter recorded video. i hope this is helpful to anyone interested in this dash cam.Update: From 4 star to 5 star now.

I am driving a lot on daily basis, so dash cam was a must have purchase for me.Used this dash cam for over the week , and video quality is amazingly clear in rain weather.Wish it has a hidden-installation option (connect the wires directly to 12V), but assume non of consumer dash cam offer this feature.The only real problem i faced - i accidentally installed it in wrong place initially, so had to reuse the only one available window adapter after applying some portion of fresh glue. Will be great to have at least two adapters in box.But anyways, the device itself works very well.

Probably the best dash cam at this price point. Very nicely packaged and the install was a breeze (hidden wires) and interior mounted rear camera. Plenty of wiring (did an SUV). Operation is as described and is of very good visual quality. Definitely recommend

Average product. Onboard screen resolution not good. Night vision poor. I would suggest go for WiFi Bluetooth based dash camera instead.
