I was hoping technology had finally produced an effective, non-damaging iron. I tried the GHD Platinum Plus against the Bio Ionic 10X Pro and the Cloud Nine against the T3 Single Pass Luxe. The T3 won for me. I sent the other 3 back and congratulated myself on getting a great deal on eBay as well as finally ending up with a really wonderful iron. Then I saw something about an oil-infused straightener and got curious and took a chance on this one and... the T3 is now going back too. The Cherry Professional Red Cherry really loves my hair and left it feeling healthier, shinier and stronger. I am pretty amazed. I have long, blonde (lightened) hair and because of having to color treat it, I make my own products from high grade oils and extracts to keep it "alive," but I often let it air dry and then put it up because I would rather it be healthy than look perfect. I have a Revlon One Step that I use too, which is amazing, when I want to get a nice blowout, but still wanted an iron to finish it and get at the roots. The Cherry/cherry red/black cherry, cherry, cherry took a minute (give or take) to heat up, but once it was hot, I was able to get in close to the root and its curved edges keep the plates a fairly safe distance from the face. I really enjoyed the wider plates. They made the job faster and smoother. The straightener has a very substantial feel but is surprisingly light considering the steam function, craftsmanship, and the materials used in the finish. I love the color. Black cherry is the bomb, especially when it has a shimmery/metalic paint treatment that also leaves a bit of a nice grip to the iron. I'm always a sucker for the latest in finishes. The iron is not complicated to use, but you do need to reveiw the instructions, which are simple. I used the 4th heat setting (I have very thick hair and stubborn waves.) After the first pass, I must have blinked about 5 times taking in the fact that: 1.) the plates literally glide over hair. I've seen that said, but in my experience, it's been either, you don't really get the press you are looking for bc of "floating plates" or deliberate design or; you get press, but it's not gliding and you have to choose between pressure and movement. These plates glide and I pressed, which leads me to 2.) Shine. The argan oil (I also like marula oil for hair and will mix some with some turkey red (castor oil) to make it liquid and try that out as well) left my hair feeling silky. I haven't felt that since I started color treating my hair. I rarely leave reviews, because I am a bit lazy and if I get what I expected, I'm good and if I don't, it can be returned. But, because the memory of all 4 irons are still fresh in my memory, along with a bit of heat damage. Sad to say, it was mostly the Bio Ionic's fault. And I had such high hopes for it :( what a shame. This straightener has startled me out of my lethargy enough to put fingertips to keypad and elucidate my high praises.
