When it believes it's reached whatever temperature it's set it, it turns itself off. This means it's constantly turning itself off and on, which is annoying and noisy. It's also never true that it's actually heated the space properly, because the heater is so weak it felt like it wasn't heating more than a foot or two in front of it.There's assembly required (the wheels have to be added to the bottom of the device rather than coming attached, and each of the four wheels is attached by four screws).The wifi setup is a bloody nighmare. The instructions are WORTHLESS. They literally say the heater will talk to you once it's plugged in and tell you how to connect your wifi. Guess whether that happened. It took me hours, a call to their customer support, a long chat with my internet provider, and an entirely new setup for my home wifi to make it work. As others have noted, you must have your phone on a 2.4ghz wifi signal for the device pairing to work. Almost all modern devices are on 5G wifi. And more and more wifi signals automatically shift between 5G and 2.4G for the device, which means you can't force your 5G device to connect to 2.4G without new settings.And after all of that, the app is mediocre at best. "Schedules" are setup with individual events that can be set to recur or be individual. Individual and recurring events are all in one list, undifferentiated. There's no way to easily plan out a schedule that's straightforward and connected.As a heater, this fails. It's weak. As a digital heater, this fails. It turns off and on constantly rather than having some kind of maintenance mode that isn't so noisy and disruptive. As a smart device, this fails. It's horribly difficult to setup, and the app is pathetic.I have it 24 hours to change my mind. All it managed to do was trip a breaker. So, does it fail at energy efficiency? It's hard to say. It certainly fails at pretty much everything else.PROS - small size, cord storage (messy storage, though, because the cord can't be attached to keep it inside, so it flops right out again), cool touch wood top could easily be a tableI set this back and bought smart plugs for my old school, powerful little space heaters. Then returned them, because they were also Smart Life-connected, and they ALSO DIDN'T PAIR PROPERLY. So, I deleted the Smart Life app, and invested in Kasa instead. Smart Life devices are just garbage. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Set up problems, but easy to use after. *by J***Y on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on February 20, 2019* Long story short, this thing feels reasonably durable, heats my cold bathroom and has a vent toward the ground for good vertical coverage - however, it will only successfully connect to WiFi if your 2.4 ghz band has a distinct name from your 5 ghz band (Ala increasingly popular dual band routers) - this is a relatively minor set back but required sleuthing to find out and I know everyone is not going to be comfortable changing their WiFi band names back and forth during set up.We will see if it stays connected indefinitely after returning my WiFi names to matching, and how functional the scheduling feature is. I have 3 African Grey Parrots who all live in their own room. African Grey's are as most parrots sensitive to the temperature of their environment. My parrots like their room to be within a very tight temperature range. The Heatstorm wifi heater filled that bill extraordinarily well. Its thermostat, and it's thermometer are both sensitive and very accurate. I am very pleased with my purchase. Not only is the heater great at doing the job it is designed to do; it is also as amazingly easy to set up on wifi.
