All things being equal it should open menus and apps quicker with the quad core. If you plan on using the Smart features then this becomes a significant benefit. **Q: does this have matte screen** A: The screen is semi-matte. It is glossier than the old matte screens but nothing like the mirror gloss of many other models and brands. This was a concern of mine and with this set it is not an issue. **Q: did anybody lose their Netflix after updatING IT ..on the UN48H6400** A: Yes, Netflix does not work any longer on the Samsung 48" or 55". For some reason it simply does not work. If you figure out how to correct this issue please let me know. **Q: Does the HDMI-EC (AnyNet) on this set power on a home theater/bluray when the TV is turned ON? (The manual says it can turn OFF HDMI-CEC devices.)** A: The TV will turn on when the Blu-Ray player is turned on. The other devices will turn off when the television is turned off. The logic is that by turning on the Blu-Ray player, the TV will need to be on to navigate and watch. But just because the TV is on doesn't mean the Blu-Ray player or Home Theater system is necessarily wanted each time.
