Review: Bulletproof if you follow directions - I can't recommend this stuff enough. It's the best RV roof sealant I've ever used, and I've been using it for over 18 years. In 2007 I bought an older truck camper that has a metal roof with two full-width seams running laterally across it. About a year after I bought it one or both of those seams started leaking. I read up on possible solutions and somewhere read about Eternabond. It was 18 years ago so I don't even remember where I'd first heard about it. But I bought some, sealed both of those seams, and it has never leaked a drop since. I still have that camper and just used it a couple of weeks ago on a trip to the desert. One night it poured rain. I sat inside, cozy, warm and dry. After EIGHTEEN years!! That's how good this stuff is. The caveat is that you have to follow directions. If you're one of those guys who buys something, installs it and reads the directions later, you probably shouldn't bother with Eternabond. There are things you need to know about it. First, the area where you're laying it down needs to be clean and dry. I scrape off all old sealant first and then go over the entire area where the Eternabond will go with Acetone on a rag. Acetone works great. It gets the area clean and evaporates quickly. Second, don't apply Eternabond unless it's at least 70 degrees outside. It's very sticky, but the colder it is outside the less sticky it is. I believe their instructions say you can apply it in colder weather than that, and below 40F or so they have a primer you can use to make it stick better when it's cold. But I've never used that. I prefer to just apply it when it's warm - as I said, at least 70F. There is a clear plastic layer over the gummy part that you remove as you're laying it down. Once you get it laid down, go over it with a hand-held roller, applying downward pressure over all of it. The pressure activates the bonding process. You can also run it over the top of other Eternabond (like where corners meet) and it will stick great to itself. Finally, run a bead of caulk along the leading edges of it, the edges toward the front of your rig. The reason for this is that over several years and many miles, the high winds hitting it from traveling can start to peel the front of it up. It's an extremely slow process, but if you put that bead of caulk down it will protect the leading edge from the wind and you won't have that problem. Besides using it on that camper, I've also used it on my 5th wheel, as recently as 6 months ago. I used it to hold down a sheet of 22 mil billboard vinyl over the entire roof, all cut to fit over all vents, skylight, etc. This rig is no longer mobile and is used solely as guest quarters these days so I didn't need something as sturdy as rubber roofing. I tore all the degraded EPDM off of it and replaced it with billboard vinyl, all held down by Eternabond. Since then we've had some very heavy rain storms and some significant wind, and it's been perfect. No more leaks, no more trouble. I'm a huge fan of Eternabond.
Review: Great Tape for Sealing an RV - This tape was great for sealing the camper. The roll went a long way when trimming around the top because we only had to apply one layer. It has been stuck well for over 6 months and have had no signs of peeling. We have also used this product on various other things around the camper and it always does the trick. The texture is smooth on the top but will mold to whatever. The price was fair for the longevity and versatility of the product.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do you need to use uv protector on this product?**
A: No. https://www.amazon.com/EternaBond-Mobile-Sealant-Repair-Authentic/dp/B07F9659ZT/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&m=A3GG04H8D34CC9&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&qid=1599366637&s=merchant-items&sr=1-6

**Q: For use on aluminum horse trailer, can it go directly over existing caulking?**
A: Yes.. as long as the tape covers over caulk or silicone on both sides at least an inch.

**Q: Can it be installed with two layers over screw heads?**
A: What I usually do is clean off all of the old layers over screw heads, wipe down the area to be covered with Lacquer Thinner, put a small amount of new caulking on top of the screws and while it is curing, put the EternaBond over the entire set of screws keeping them in the middle of the tape run.

**Q: Will it work on a metal mobile home roof to cover over the seams before kool sealing**
A: I put it on a Winnebago roof that was a sheet of aluminum. It works very well and seals leaks. It is very sticky and sticks to anything it touches so you have to be careful in application. Once it touches something it is difficult to impossible to remove it. Very pleased with the product and would use it again.
